Many people think that using FETAL or Embryonic stem cells is taking a human life. Therefore, it is immoral to experiment with them. It's as simple as that.
As for those who don't think that a fetus is a human being, your DNA today is exactly the same as the day that you were conceived. If you're human today, then you were human then as well.
Here are some sources about experimenting on "lesser" humans. Read them and then tell me that FETAL stem cell research is moral.

I think that if those embryos are going to be discarded anyway, and most are, then I think we should help make their short lives meaningful and allow them to be used to cure, as of now, incurable diseases. I don't think this is a step toward human cloning and I haven't given it much thought beyond that.

I believe it is wrong. Create a human being just to be harvest and then killed is inhumane. I believe is a step close to cloning. .. Just because it can be done it doesn't mean it should be done.. There are boundaries..Playing God can get us in lots of trouble

While I am totally against cloning I feel the research must continue because it may cure some terrible diseases.

We can do it so it will be done, there ough to be strict ethical protocol as with all contentious research. I am all for it.
Cloning will be a little way off yet, and twins are genetically the same so lets do that too
