EXCELLENT POINT !!!

ITS THE INSULT TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO SUFFERED AND DIED UNDER HITLER.

IT SHOWS TWO THINGS...
FAILURE OF OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM...
LIBERALS WHO CALLS BUSH A NEW HITLER... DON'T REALLY UNDERSTAND HISTORY VERY WELL.

Well, of course that somewhat depends upon whom they are comparing to Hitler. In the same time period Stalin could have easily been compared to Hitler, and some would say that was treating Stalin too nicely. :)

In today's world we probably have men that, if given the power Hitler had, would perform much as Hitler did. From what we've learned about Saddam Husein; it seems he managed to match Hitler in many ways. Perhaps calling him a modern day Hitler wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

However, I think you are referring to the tendency to rashly compare just anyone you don't like to Hitler. When President Bush seems harsh on prisoners captured during the war against Iraq then suddenly he's compared to Hitler. President Clinton was compared to Hitler when he unleashed cruise missiles against supposed terrorists' hideouts in Afghanistan. When people make such statements it's very much like little children when they want to say something bad about each other but don't yet have the vocabulary to truly vilify each other and say things like, "You're just a nanny poo-poo."

In that sense, yes, those that lash out and say someone is a Hitler or a Stalin or an Attila the Hun; just because they are mad at someone--they are not making true comparisons and are showing a lack of proportion.

If anyone deserved the Nobel Peace Prize, it was Adolf Hitler. Certainly, no current world leader deserves that honor. Hitler did not want war. World War II was forced on Germany. Poland was encouraged to attack Germany by the promises of British Ambassador Sir Howard William Kennard and French Ambassador Leon Noel. They promised unconditionally that England and France would come to Poland’s immediate aid should she need it in case of war with Germany; therefore, no matter what Poland did to provoke Germany’s attack, Poland had an assurance from England and France. With this guarantee, Poland began acting ruthlessly. In addition, Kennard and Noel flattered Poland into thinking she was a great power. They sabotaged the efforts of those Polish leaders who wanted a policy of friendship with Germany.

If I was to compare anybody to Hitler, I'd have a clue. I've studied WWII all my life. If you look at the similarities between Hitler's rise to power and Bush's, it'd shock you! You shouuld study history some, because there's a old saying that goes something like this "If you don't study history, you are doomed to repeat it."

I have been saying this the whole time. If you have ever read translations of some of Hitler's speeches you would see that no president "like them or hate them" could ever even come close to the evil that he preached. Comparing George Bush to Hitler is like calling some one who got a parking ticket a felon.

Well people do it as a joke which is fair enough. But when people make it as a serious comment, i agree. Nothing can compare to the tyranny of Adolf Hitler.

People have numerous characteristic traits...obviously so did Hitler. I'm sure at least half of what people have to say about comparing Hitler to others may be partialy true.
