Not much info, but I'll try.

Is it in an isolated area?
Is it sparse/at random?
Have you ever spilled bleach?
If so, and left, needs refinished.

Does someone in the family use Acne meds?
Are the spots similar to finger tips?

Spots have been detected on carpet in front of the TV, where children have lay down, with the meds on their hands.
Spillage of the meds can cause it.
Color can be destroyed.
Needs refinished.

Is it just along the seams of a strip wood floor.
Is on the seams/joints of Parquet?
Is it powdery?
Is the sub-floor concrete?

If the above 4, it may be alkali. This is caused by hydrostatic pressure form moisture in the ground coming through the slab. This should not happen if a proper membrane was placed under a slab. This most often happens in a "finished garage", no membrane is used there.

If it is powdery, it is definitely alkali. To control alkali, use a cup of white vinegar to one gallon of water. Mop the floor regularly. This will "kill" the alkali. Not permanently, it will return periodically.
Mop rinse with clear water afterwards.
This also works on ceramic, or vinyl, where alkali is present.

Any other condition will have to be determined by a professional floor man.

If you're willing to put in a little bit of work: if the floor is lacquered (I assume it is) try sanding off the areas with the white spots gently. If they won't come off, sand the lacquer off in those small areas completely. Then, you can try using a dark wood stain on those areas, and apply a lacquer afterwards. I had a similar experience, and this was the only way I could get the situation solved. It isn't very much work, and I am proud to say the floor looks wonderful now, and I am sure yours will too should you try.

Wish you all the best.
