Disney World Florida is HUGE and you can spend a whole week there and still not see everything. However, it is probably the ultimate theme park destination. The "Magic" will make your experience one you'll never forget.
Universal Studios (California) is a great one day adventure that is especially appealing to movie fans. Note: If you have kids under 48", they won't be able to ride Mummy or Jurassic Park. The Tram Tour is second to none and is the most unique attraction in all of theme parks (But the new Fast & Furious piece is a "piece" of crap).
Now, if you meant to say Disneyland (California), then I'd recommend Disneyland. They are just finishing up the 50th anniversary stuff and it's the first "real" theme park and it still holds up. Plus, you get to ride the new Pirates with Jack Sparrow!!!
Good luck and have a great time!

It actually depends on who you are so it seems rather silly to ask. I wish people would stop comparing Universal to Disney parks. They are in no way similar. So, see them both. I personally love Disney, and can not stand Universal. Yet, they are two very, very different experiences and it is useless trying to decide which is better. They are nothing alike. Just try Universal one day and Disney the next. Whatever you like better... go there. I'm not worried about Disney's popularity. Disney will have it's loyal fans, and people who enjoy Disney for what it is. Disney doesn't have to be Universal, and Universal doesn't have to be Disney. They are two different theme parks, and there is no need to decide. They both have their place, and Disneyland will always have it's place in my heart.

Walt Disney World is in Florida. Disneyland is in California. I pick Disneyland, because there's is nothing like the magic of the only park that Walt Disney personally created...

It really depends on how long or how many times you visit. Dinseyland's rides (if you can get past the lines) are enjoyable for many rides. Most of Universal Studios' rides are like mini-movies. They last a while, but can become dull after a few rides (or just two if you remember what happens when, which kills the enjoyment and freshness of it). If you dont like roller-coasters though, dont go to Disneyland.

For younger kids, probably Disney. For kids over about ten, definitely Universal! However they're both worth a day out. If you can possibly stretch to doing both, do it!! Whichever one you go to, I'm sure you'll have fun.
