I have been a scrapbooker for 8 years now. I was introduced to Creative Memories when I started so this was the company that I purchased many of my materials from. Nowadays, you can shop at Wal-Mart, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Michaels, ect. There are even scrapbook stores now dedicated to the hobby!

As far as tips, I highly reccommend that you use acid-free and lignen-free products. Using products with that help reduce the risk of your photos turning yellow. Also, use plastic page protectors over your pages to help from the wear-and-tear of the years.
What is so great about scrapbooking is that you can be as creative as you would like and do whatever you would like to your pages! If you don't already, you should consider purchasing a digital camera and printer. It makes scrapbooking a lot easier because you print what photos you want and you can crop the photos to fit what image you want exactly to be in the picture. It also saves on purchasing film constantly!

For my albums, I use Creative Memories albums (12x12). I find that the 12x12 albums fit all my pictures nicely because I take so many. It is hard to choose just a few photos for a two page spread!
If you use stickers for your pages, consider stickerplanet.com. They have just about any kind of sticker you can imagine and you can search by keyword if there is something specific you are looking for!

I could go on forever about scrapbooking. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Good luck with scrapbooking and have fun!

Keepingmemoriesalive.com

acherryontop.com

joann.com

All have good products. The best tip I can give you is to NEVER buy anything at full price. Wait for a sale. And you can get some great papers at any craft department of Micheals, or Hobby Lobby. Also Jo-ann fabric store. They usually have sales on the papers. Also get lots of stickers, and ribbon. All of those things are GREAT embellishments. Most of all.....Do you own thing! This is a way to express yourself creatively.

There is a show on tv about scrapbooking. Carol Duvall? You may have a scapbook business in your area, they should have classes. I've been doing this for a few years, and it's fun, but time consuming, and costly. But it's enjoyable and rewarding in the end.

a.c. moore is one of the best places to find scrapbooking supplies. They have starter kits and a wide variety of stamps, scissors and boarders too. If you go to their website you can find a store in your area. If you sign up for their news letter they will even send you a coupon that you can print out ant take to the store for a discount on an item you purchase. I highly recommend them.

Don't overdo pages. When something feels like it needs one more thing - don't add it. If you feel the same way in a week, then feel free. Also, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS journal!
