The purpose of life, did we simply get these purposes from society? and the world we live in? did we learn them from the media? These are purposes man made up. I'm sure the meaning of life had different meanings throughout time. However the true one should never be able to change.

Well, this is a question worth thinking about... let me see..

If we make up meanings to make ourselves feel better, this means that we exist.

Since we exist, and we feel, then we can have good feelings or bad feelings.

Since we exist and we feel, we would rather choose to have good feelings!

Since we, the existing and feeling beings, choose to have good feelings, then life has a meaning, it is a stage in which people try to feel better! Stupid, ha?

Anyway, think about this. did you ever do a good thing to someone else? didn't this thing make this someone feel good? didn't making this someone feel good make you feel good??? Ohh, then making someone feel good is a meaning!!

ok too much bla bla bla, hope it makes sence!
take care

The universe is comprised of a number of non-related, non-sequential events. If you are an evolutionists, you can believe that events occurred coincidentally to cause our existence. If you are religious, you can believe that god caused events to happen in a manner in order to create us. Whatever.

Man is a weaker, slower animal. In order for him to survive, he had to have as brain that is capable of logical and creative thought. Unfortunately, that also gives us the ability to torture ourselves with unanswerable questions and to theorize about what the answers to those questions might be and to believe in some of the baloney that people come up with to the point where we will kill each other over theories and beliefs and possibly destroy our entire species.

We can't do anything about how the universe was created and we can't do anything about how it will end, assuming that it will end. We can do something about how we live, how our children will live, and how most of the other species will live. Our purpose is to help each other and the planet we live on. How will you be remembered?

Who is the most famous person ever? A carpenter from Nazareth. Whether you think he was God's son, and I am not saying if I do or don't, or not does not matter. The way he lived his life obviously did.

How will you be remembered?

I'm not sure which PURPOSES you are talking about. I have learned that life is, in fact, something that is continuously changing. My life and your life, for example, should not have the same meaning. I know this is just a fictional story, but read the book "The five people you meet in heaven". it has a very reasonable explanation about how a purpose in life is specific to each person. Just like your values, interests, friends, family, etc. are different, so will you purpose.
Check out the book.

As much as I'd like to say that there is one true purpose of life that actually means something to everyone, I can't. The one purpose of life, in the biological sense, is to reproduce; make more of us; not die out. We live to survive. Pretty disappointing to some of us. Not that reproducing isn't important... it's just so animalistic. But nevertheless, we are animals.

In a more emotional capacity, the neat thing about humans is that we can all create our own meaning for life. We don't all have to have the same one. Some people may want to dedicate their lives to helping others; other people may want to see the world. Some may want to feel true happiness, and others may just want the fastest, coolest sports car available. The thing is, it doesn't matter what your meaning for life is, as long as you have something to live for.

Everyone has there own "meaning of life". I think people find their meaning of life during a life changing experience. Some people find their meaning of life when they get married. They can feel like their meaning of life is to be married to that person. Some people find their meaning of life when they become a parent. They can feel like their meaning of life was to become a parent to their child. People find it in situation's that change their life. I hope that I helped.

The meaning of life is simply this:

Enjoy your limited time here on Earth, try not to hurt anyone else, and leave things the way you found them so that our children have something to enjoy.

That's it. Nothing more nothing less.

I can't help but believe that each of us has a unique purpose and destiny here on this earth. Each of us has a much deeper and profound purpose here as well. That would be the pursuit of spiritual growth.
