There are holes in the nipples of both sex's after childbirth and throughout life. In fact Babies will sometimes produce a trickle of milk during the first weeks of life. This is called "Witch's Milk" because the mothers hormones are still present in the child's body after birth. Causing it to produce milk. Strange huh?

As a dietitian, I have studied breastfeeding as the best option (in most cases) for nourishing a new-born child. The breast has several lobes (or sections) that each have special glands that produce the milk. Breastfeeding mothers have a reflex known as the "let down reflex" that signals the milk to drop from the lobes of the breast and move down toward the nipples. Usually, this reflex is caused by the mother hearing her baby cry, or by the infant actually sucking on the nipple. The nipple itself has 10-20 small pores that the milk is expressed from. There is not 1 large hole that milk pours out of. When the infant sucks, milk naturally flows out of the many pores and into the infant's mouth. Therefore, if a mother wants to breastfeed once the baby is born, she simply puts the infant to breast. There is no need to create any holes in the nipple.

The baby has what is called a retractable tooth that only comes up through the gum during nursing. The infant uses that tooth to pierce and hole in the nipple adequate enough to get milk out. This is painful for the mother initially but she gets used to it. The hole will close automatically once the child finishes his meal however the tooth will reappear like "Brigadoon" for each feeding. When the child is weened, the tooth will fall out during sleep. Mothers should be careful to look for this tooth and dispose of it before the baby accidentally breaths it into its nostrals during sleep. This is the leading cause of crib-death in early childhood.

There are multiple little openings that let the milk come out. It is a good idea while pregnant to rub the nipples to toughen them up. It is painful at first to breastfeed cause the nipples get too sore. You can use products with lanolin that really helps. So do tea bags. The soreness does not last too long and it is really worth it to breast feed.

There are very tiny holes in the nipples. You can't see them. After childbirth, the milk will come. If full enough, the milk will spray out of the nipple if the breast is pressed.

You may not see it, but there are many small holes on your nipple. When you lactate, milk will come out of our nipple naturally. You can feel your breasts get full, and it's not unsual for a breast to "leak."
Even though you can't see the "holes", they are there.

have you given birth to a child already? coz if not you will not really find that holes there yet unless you get wed and get preg and give birth and find out if there is a hole there or not. and if you are in a hurry to know now go to a specialist and let your breast have examined to know if you really have it or not.

The nipple itself is composed of cells that secrete milk that is made in the mammary glands. So the mammary glands make milk, its sent to the secretory cells in the nipples via ducts, and milk is secreted when suckled or other stimuli like smell of baby or sound of baby's cry stimulate secretion.

Breast milk will secret through gland. There doesn't need to have holes for it to come out. Just get your baby to suck on it. They will get milk. No worry.. mothernature takes care all.

The drugstore has a "nipple opener" you use when you are ready to start feeding the baby. The hospital will explain it. They are in the isle between breast pads and ear wax remover.
