Barbie was loosing market shares to the Bratz line. It's just a passing phase such as punk rock Barbie in the 1980's. I'm sure the diamond is very low quality and maybe is even synthetic.

I think it's a play on words... I mean a fake or lab diamond is real, otherwise it wouldn't exist, right? But that's not the point... the real question should be: what the hell happened to Barbie and why is she and her friends being pimped like that!!!?
