Last night one of my questions got removed for the violation of rules. It was no question, just a simple message, I have no qualms about it. But, it had inspired some of the most beautiful answers I have read until now on Yahoo Answers.

You don't always need questions to arouse responses. Even a word or statement may lead to some fabulous insight into what others have to share on a particular situation.

So, is it better to ask questions like "How???" or "Ye???" and get three dozen answers such as "nope", "yup" or "maybe", or is it ok to be crucified for having got conveyed and shared some beautiful ideas?

How far do you think I was wrong in choosing the latter?

The only thing I regret about it, I couldn't save the responses...I had no idea they will remove it at a time there are so many meaningless words floating around.

Hi. Well I thought the comment about you being up at 3:30 and hearing the rain was beautiful. I enjoyed answering it and loved all the responses that i read. I've found that in the top part just phrase it as a question and then below it put your main comments about what we thought of what it was you described. Like "does anyone else like hearing the rain?" or something like that. and then put what you wrote below. I'm surprised that your question was removed. and disappointed. You seem like a thoughtful and poetic person. All your questions are very good and they actually have some depth to them.

A lot of questions in this forum cause people to really think. I've seen some that have offended me for some particular reason, but still seem to be legtimate. However, if someone is insulted or reads the question the wrong way, it could get knocked out. So, keep asking the hard and thoughtful questions. We are reading and thinking...

It's totally without rhyme of reason. It's all complaint generated. If someone wants to WHINE about your question, even if it's innocuous, they can. Sometimes it just seems like Yahoo is acting as a Censor. I know of one guy , The Oracle, who had his account, e-mail AND 360 suspended. Why? Because some woman he was having a fight with via this thing, YA, filed whiney complaints about everything he did. I
t's rediculous, but chalk it up to the trouble Yahoo got into with user-generated chat rooms. There was every kind of strange , even perverted, chat room- and Yahoo got in trouble and pulled ALL of them. They no longer exist. Do you know how to spell LAWSUIT?

THAT is why Yahoo is being extra careful. Spread it round folks, so others will understand.

According the the FAQ (see below), things aren't automatically removed, but are checked by a yahoo person.

Perhaps if you had added a question asking for reactions to what you wrote, it would have been left up.

I'm afraid you'll have to put up some one-word answers, because the rule is that it has to be a question, not a statement.

Simply put this forum is for questions and answers. This is not a place for you to get up on a soapbox to spread your opinions, you can use your 360 page Blog for that, or numerous other places.

Not knowing what your question was I have no way of knowing if you're right or wrong.
Inspiring people to think and interact is always a good thing, just be careful how you word it.

no i think you were cheated out of your own words, try posting it again... here's my response...

everything is an inquiry... maybe not to the questioner... but to someone else, (and i think that ignorance has brought us to selfeshness... so that would not matter to many people)... so every response is a answer to somebody else... and i also think that your statement has gotten me back in the mood of being ignorant of my ignorance by calling everyone ignorant... after all, ignorance is bliss

is my answer stupid because i answered it... or i am i stupid because this is my answer.... ignorance is bliss
