You can get a virus but that can happen with any p2p program. Just always do the following, make sure to preview the song within the limewire player. if it won't play, then cancel the download immediately. I've never gotten a virus and I've been using it for almost 3 years. Oh, and if you download something that you can't preview, then once it is downloaded, go to your folder where you keep the files, right click, and choose the virus scan option.
As for putting the music onto your iPod, just use iTunes to add the download folder.

if you have limewire just select what type of media you would like to download. if it is music then select AUDIO. Search category will appear on the left and type in the title of the song or just the singer. Wait for the right window to show search result. choose the desired song and double click it. a message will appear that prompts you to select an answer. just click yes and it will already download. once it is complete, on the bottom part, click explore. it will take you to the folder where the downloaded media is stored. now it is ready to be played on your winamp. if you want it to transfer to ipod, i guess yu already know how to transfer music from PC to other gadgets like MP3, IPOD, and even Celphones. if you want it in CD, you must have a CD Burner. Use NERO to help you burn CDs

Download the music to your hard disk first and then if you use iPod, add the files to your iTunes library so you can transfer them to your iPod library.

You can also burn discs on iTunes, making a list and then selecting "burn" on the top right of the browser.
