it`s not just a european thing. it`s in other countries too.
plus why is it such a big deal? hair on the body is a natural thing, and i don`t think you should have that pressed image in your mind that all women MUST have their legs&armpits shaven, and it is taboo for men to shave their legs.

There is no proper way to "maintain your armpits." There are cultural differences between us and Europeans. In Europe they believe that the natural smell of a woman is attractive, and they just don't think armpit hair is weird like we do here.

Some cultures see this as being sexy ... and lord knows on some women ... just about anything is sexy. I knew a black girl who didn't shave her legs ... it was an ethnic thing. It didn't work for me.

I've never seen a problem with hair, so long as people bathe regularly. I don't see it as unattractive at all!

I think that started out as an American tradition. Others adopted it from us.

It doesn't bother them because it is natural. Americans just don't like it.
