my anti virus has expired and i cant really afford a new one but i know i need 1

There's 2 that you can use at the same time without them conflicting. AVG is no longer the best free anti virus as Avast! is now available as a free download. It has real time scanning and will check your web browser, e-mail, messages, P2P and so on.
At the same time you can use BitDefender as an on demand backup; just right click on any file and select scan with bitdefender. So each file can be scanned by two different programs.
I'd also recommend Ewido anti malware.

Your answer to your question is www.avast.com the free version you register it and they give you a serial number by email only one conditions you have to re-register it every years but if you read the info about avast it will tell you.

Yeah, I had the same problem and I resolved it here at YA. Check for AVG, it's the best cheep one... You can update it whenever you want
