Which is the primary?The shoe with the long lining or the short lining and which one goes toward the front of the vehicle.It's been years since I last replaced the brakes on this old girl and I have forgotton!!

short shoe on front,long on back. The back one is the one that does the work in forward motion.

I hope you left one side on so you can see how they go back together....
typically the long one is in front and the short one is rear (typically).
A repair manual should show you a picture of the brakes installed so you will know what you are going for.

The leading shoe is bigger, I believe, but look at both carefully, some brake systems both of the shoes are the same...consult your Chilton's guide to be sure...

Take the drum off the other side and copy thats how i do my rear brakes.

convinced. i replaced into broke because my Cat in basic terms surpassed on to the great beyond and all of my revenue went to vet charges. the different day i replaced into cleansing my room and in my commencement mug from extreme college 3 years in the past i chanced on $600. i could not have self belief it. I even haven't any memory of putting that style of money there.
