I'm planning on getting a notebook but i dont know what to get so what brand name computer is the best?

seems to me, u'r not used to notebooks
if it's for basic & office use i suggest the dell inspirion b130 with a centrino & wireless at $ 539

I believe not.I can very strongly say that about HP.But with Sony,its all together a different ball game.Sony VAIO Notebooks are ultra thin and ultra portable being very powerful at the same time.HP just tries to get the last penny outta u for the mediocre stuff.I suggest you go for Sony VAIO.

Look at Acer or Toshiba. Hp and Sony are only good deals if you never have a hardware issue.

My fave is apple cuz there are no known viruses for macs and now you can run PC programs on it.
My order of pc's is
Alienware
Sony
Dell
Hp
Compac Parsio
Acer
It all just depends on your pricerange

XPS' are the best out there, they are top of the line! but seriously contact me and i will sell you a really nice pc

~The only help I can give is don't get an Advent, mine overheated and now shuts down at random intervals I got a shop to look at it and they said they get lots of them doing the same thing....
