Actually we are the Ones who set up the state that is Israel. Of course it was for our own interests of course as the Political climate and the Public opinion at the time No one wanted the Jewish peoples flooding out of post-holocaust Europe coming to there country. The Belief was similar to the one we have today with the Mexicans. Everyone blamed them for taking all of the Jobs.
At the Time a # of treaties were drafted and since then a Large # more. In fact I cannot think of a strong economical argument for us being involved with Israel at all anything we get imported from them would and is cheaper and easier to get from more stable Mediterranean countries.
So in the end even though our country is Based along a strictly non-religious government Israel is the birthplace of earths Largest religious group and they are and always have been a Powerful governmental power.

If you mean by "they are cause of all the problems in the Middle East" by just being Jewish. We'll then that would make them the problem (for just being Jewish). That is not good enough for me. They are a democracy that respects the rights of humans. Sometimes we as civilized people need to stand up for what is right. I feel respecting the rights of humans to exist is worth it regardless of their spiritual beliefs. If you don't believe in someones religious beliefs so be it. Believe in your own faith and don't take away the right of other to believe what they want. What is wrong with that? The U.S. takes the side of Israel to allow free people to have the right to choose their religion and not forced upon them. What good is a religion if you are forced to follow it rather than to follow it based on your own free will. I'm not Jewish but I will fight to protect the right of anyone to follow that faith. That my friend is why the U.S. chooses to support Israel.

There are several reasons. Some of them very strong and justifiable. What do you do if some one tells you have no right exist? Every one has the right to lead a peaceful life and prosper. How does one react when your very existence is threatened? What ever be ones ideology one can not question the very existence of other. And what is the basis of all this? Some distorted and convoluted ideology drilled in during Friday sermon (KHUTBA) delivered by some one who is filled with hate. Jews who formed their country Israel in 1948 were probably the only people subjected worst atrocities in Nazi Germany. Historically they have been hated by Christians in general and held responsible for crucifixion of Jesus Christ. For all these reasons Israelis vowed to themselves to make them so strong that no one on earth can ever subjugate them. Let us not forget there is something about Jews which makes them stand out in the comity of nations. Best of scientists, philosophers and thinkers who made greatest of discoveries that changed the ways of mankind were all Jews. Ten commandments that is the blueprint of leading a just life were handed down by Moses who was a Jew. Greatest of teachings of love was taught by Jesus another Jew. Concept of dialectical materialism leading to the present day Marxist/Leninist was propounded by Karl Marx. Why a man behaves the way he does was explained to us through Freudian theories. Last but not the least Albert Einstein towering physicist propounded his theory of relativity in 1905- which lead to revolution in physics and eventually to construction of weapons of mass destruction. Be that as it may, these illustrious people went to US as immigrants and greatly prospered and constitute a strong lobby in America and will never let Israel down. I can not but greatly admire these courageous people who surrounded all around by bitter enemies who swear every day to destroy them hold their head high and have become a power to reckon with. Such is the grave scenario threatening the very existence of Israel.Under the circumstances supporting the Israelis is more than justified .

Jewish money and influence. The twinkie should remember that US backing of Israel is sixty years in the making and instead of bashing the President, look at the names of the people in the State Dept.

I suppose you thought Hitler was doing the right thing trying to exterminate the Jews back in WW2, after all the Jews caused that too, just by existing.
