Basically, a friend of mine needs to improve her listening skills in English for a standardized exam she must take. She can handle American English and British English, but she can't quite hone in on Australian English. I think giving her a few movies to watch (with subtitles) that use Australian English would be helpful.

The Cars That Ate Paris is very entertaining and surprisingly funny, can't think of any more, I don't seem to like Australian films much do I?

I didn't know there was any movies with British or Australian with American subtitles.. .THEY ARE THE SAME LANGUAGE! Sure, some words may differ.. but it is still ENGLISH! My favorite aussie movies would be the MAD MAX series..

I would recommend "Swimming Upstream". It is about the inspirational life story of Australian swimmer, Tony Fingleton. It stars Jesse Spencer from the hit tv series House m.d.

How about the movie "Dead Calm" with Nichole Kidman. She is from Australia and speaks with her normal accent. Awesome, suspensful movie!
