i currently live in chandler and absolutely love it!!

my boyfriend works at the airport and i work in downtown phoenix at a local hospital ( around 12th st and mcdowell)

the sniper attacks have been primarily west of the highway 101 which is basically central/west phoenix, glendale, and peoria.

the baseline killer has targeted the areas around 32nd st and thomas which is eastern/central phoenix. again he is also west of the highway 101.

queen creek is a nice area and it's growing but right now there arent a whole lot of things out there and it's a pretty far drive from the other cities surrounding phoenix.

gilbert is a nice area-similar to chandler just further east. Mesa is good too but you have to watch the areas you live in-some are rundown, seedy and crime infested. awahtuhkee is another area you might look into-very close to where i live in chandler and a nice place.

things i like best about chandler are:
the neighborhood we live in is super quiet and super safe-my boyfriend has lived in the house for about 3 years and me for about 1 and have had NO issues at all-i've never even seen a cop car in our neighborhood.

everything is close-the mall is right next door, grocery store, bank, restaraunts, etc are not too far away.

the freeway is down the street-it takes him about 15 minutes to get to work at the airport and me about 20 minutes.

I lived in Mesa, really close to Gilbert., and honestly I loved it, and I have friends that live in Queen Creek, it's gorgeous, but there's not alot of stores, restaurants, etc there, whereas Mesa had all that, plus just a nice area to be in, so I suppose it depends on what kind of environment you prefer. Willl you take me with you? lol

The Baseline serial killer is so named because his early attacks were along that road which runs right through Gilbert. He's branched out since then. I'm not sure where the sniper targets. One area to avoid is East Phoenix and also Central/Metro Phoenix.

You can find police maps online that color code the areas with violent crimes. I've looked at it, but can't remember the site. Another place to double check is the registered sex offenders (http://www.familywatchdog.us/Search.asp). They tend to collect in the trashy, high crime areas. Imagine that.

We're moving to Phoenix too. A week from today.

It depends on your financial status and what kind of scene you like. Scottsdale is hoity-toity, so is Paradise Valley; Tempe is for more the party type (ASU is right there), Mesa and Gilbert are quieter and family-oriented. Queens Creek is way outside Phoenix, so it's cheaper and rather quiet.

What snipers are you talking about?

I live on the westside in Glendale & I love it.

We looked at new homes in Queen Creek about 4 years ago. They were very nice, but both our parents lived on the westside so after holding a lot for 24 hours we let it go. It was a nice community off of the 10 towards a casino just on the other side of the Maricopa border.
