Looking for a nice hotel OR beachfront cottage to hoineymoon in Barbados. Privacy, good location, won't break the bank (willing to splurge a little..). No Big resorts or all-inclusives....we want to explore the island!

Thanks!

You can rent a villa for just about any budget. Stay on the west coast in St. James for peace and quiet. The south coast (St. Michael & Christ Church) is where you want to be if you want to be able to walk around to various restaurants and nightlife. I'd avoid the east coast as the water there is rather rough, and not for easy swimming. The link below gives a list of various places.

On the southeast coast, there's a resort called "The Crane". It's one of the most beautiful places in the world!

It's a resort, but not a typical 'resort'. It's in the middle of the country side so you almost HAVE to explore the island a little bit just to find it.

My parents own a time share at that resort. I have been going there every October for 5 years now and can't imagine a better place to have a honeymoon!

Best of luck to you and congradulation!

Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be glad to help.

There are some hotels near Rockley Beach, or Accra Beach, whatever they call it, on the West Coast of the island. There's also a Hilton further up the road there. Ask your travel agent, whomever for a list of the hotels around that area.

You might also want to try the Long Beach hotel in Christ Church. It's very nice, quiet and you can drive into town from there...my house is up the road, it used to be my parent's house. It has a blue roof now I believe...on Chancery Lane.

completely relies upon on how lengthy you're staying and the way lavish of a honeymoon you go with. We went to Sandals in St Lucia for our honeymoon on the top of very last year for roughly 8 days yet we needed to do it accurate so we were given between the nicest rooms they have. probably spent round $5,000 and it changed into thoroughly truly worth each penny. yet we probably ought to've done it for $2,000 for the most inexpensive room. did not listen good things about the inexpensive rooms although! We had a 2 tale villa with our own pool and a butler.. superb. we do not ever spend money like that notwithstanding it changed into our honeymoon and we can under no circumstances overlook it. the marriage is going by using in 2 seconds - the honeymoon is once you get to loosen up and luxuriate in!

Try Sunset Crest in Holetown. It's a small resort and is only a couple of minutes away from the beach. I've been there, it's great!
