nothing you eat or drink with the pill should make it less effective... except some antibiotics.
also an extended bout of vomiting or diarrhea can reduce the pill's effectiveness.
taking the pill at the same time every day is essential if you want it to be 99.5% effective.... missing a pill, or taking one late, reduces the effectiveness to maybe 97 or 98%, but the pill is still very effective.
i was on the pill for 11 years, was OFTEN 2-3 hours late, and occasionally missed a pill entirely, and i never got pregnant. of course, anything can happen.... but i don't think you should worry too much about small mistakes.
just follow the manufacturer's instructions:
if you miss a pill, take it as soon as you remember, and take the next one as usual.
if you miss more than one, use a backup method (condoms?) for a week afterward.
every pill is different, so make sure you read (and save) the instructions for yours.
good luck!

OK, to answer this question in full I need to know if you are on the combined pill (containing both estrogen and progestin) or the mini-pill (containing just progestin). The most common of these is the combined pill.
As to the first part, taking the pill with water, coke or nothing should have no effect on how it works at all, so do not worry about that. I would always recommend taking any tablet with around 200ml of water though, helps to make sure it doesn't get stuck on the way through your oesophagus.
The second part depends on what type of pill you take. If it is the combined pill then as long as you are no more that 12 hours late in taking the pill you should still have protection against pregnancy. That said, if you have less than 7 days left on your pill cycle (ie less than 7 pills left in your strip) I would recommend starting the next packet straight away (ie miss out the 7 day break). If you are more than 12 hours late in taking the pill make sure you still take it (even if that means taking 2 pills together) and for the next 7 days make sure you use a condom or another form of contraception to prevent pregnancy. Again, if you have less than 7 pills left in your strip start the next strip straight away and do not have the 7 day break.
If you take the mini-pill they should be taken at the same time every day with no 7 day break. If you are more than 3 hours late in taking the mini-pill you will not be protected agains pregnancy. Take it as soon as you remember, and for the next 7 days use a condom or another form of contraception.
Hope this helps.

the only thing that will affect the way your pill works is not taking it!! (it doesn't matter what drink you use to swallow it) of course other things affect the pill ie some medications and antibiotics but if a doctor prescribes you anything make sure he/she gives you the correct advice to follow if the medication affects your pill. taking your pill early should not be a problem but you should take your next 1 within 24 to 26 hours after for it to remain affective. most pills you have a 2 to 4 hour window to take it if you forget some you can take up to 12 hours late but make sure you check the leaflet in the pack to know what time period you have with the particular pill your taking.
what medical problems are you having? is it a side affect from the pill? have you checked this out with the doctor, if not it may be harmful to go back on it.
hope you find some of this information helpfull.

The pill needs to be taken at the same time every day to ensure the highest protection.
You can take it with whatever, it won't affect it, just don't mix it with any other medication, or it may fail. Antibiotics definitely effect the pill working, or shall I say, it NOT working. Use condoms if you fail to take the pill on time, for 7 days.

first of all, nothing you could be washing down your pills with will affect it's effectiveness. takeing it more than an hour late will affect things rather negatively. also taking it more than an hour early will also do the same. you have to take it at the same time every day to make it work. you could get pregnant while on the pill if you take even one pill too late or early. also i should warn you that antibiotics will completely render your pill useless. if you take any antibiotics, use a condom for a month.

You have been thinking about it waaaaaaaaay too much. It depends on which pill you are taking, but some of them suggest you try and take it at the same time every day, but a few hours either way shouldn't do any harm. It does not matter what you take it with AT ALL. The first thing you should have done was READ THE LEAFLET THAT COMES WITH YOUR PILLS!!!!!!!!

Taking the pill late will make it work less but only by a small percentage and it doesn't matter what you take it with. Unless you come off it completely you should be fine so use condoms for this time in between!

the time that you take the pill depends on which one it is. but taken it with a drink has no effect on it except if you have an upset stomach and it may not than stay in your body. Try the injection than you only worry every 12 weeks about it

Honey, I dont recommend the pill, to anyone !!!! I tried it for a couple years, and did not even like the fact that the "side-effects" list was longer, then magazines, I'd read... That made me detour to the diaphram, uncomfortable, but, much safer!!! My sister-in-law, was on the pill, after getting an "abortion", behind my brothers back........And was on it for so many years, she couldn't have kids,at after years of trying, once they'd settled down. So sad, but true........Try something else, because, those pills are so Dangerous !!! There's so many other methods on the market, that dont have a thousand chemicals in them, you know..

You should try to take your pill within three hours of the same time every day. If you take it with a huge time difference between , be sure to use extra precautions ie a condom for a couple of weeks afterwards to be safe. Doesnt matter what you take it with .
