You know, whenever I hear this song...time literally stops for me....I take on board the soul with which he sang it..obviously now a die hard classic..... Love this song..and in answer to your question...Yes indeed...I do feel this way...it is a great, gentle, strong and non-ethic signal to everyone who bothers, who takes the time to listen to it.
Thank You for making me smile........& Thank You for the lyrics which I never knew the words to in their entirety......now I too can sing it.....another to add to my shower repertoire! lol...THX!!!!!!!!
Now, is it a message of hope for our world? In reply to your query...,yes...it is..still waters apparently run deeply here....

Now that you mention it, there is just something special about that song. They've used it in a couple of different commercials in the last year or so and for some reason my cat will go sit in front of the t.v. when it comes on like she's been hypnotized. Maybe they should translate it and start cranking it out in the various trouble spots around the world... sort of the opposite of psychological warfare. *shrug* It's beats bombs and bullets!

Ya, I love that song. Too bad he never knew how big it became.

Humanity needs uplifting messages - to keep us from focusing on crap like the Middle-east.
