Yes, I was scared to death! But I have two kids and you know what? It's weird but when you get close to the end of your pregnancy... you don't really worry about labor, you just want that kid OUT of you! Not that it really hurts being pregnant (normally) but you're just tired of being big and clumsy and.. just.. HUGE!

I think there must be some kind of hormone that gets released or something the last month of pregnancy because when I was 9 months along (with both kids), I couldn't WAIT to have my baby.. I didn't even care about labor so much. No worries.. if having babies is that traumatic, people wouldn't have more than one!

It is very normal to be apprehensive about becoming pregnant and the actual delivery of a baby. In theory, it seems simple, but those nine months and all the changes that your body goes through until the time you deliver can be very, very scary. Even for the father of the child, the time can be doubly frustrating. There is another life to consider that you are bringing into the world and you have to be responsible for - it's no longer "me", but what the child's needs are. If these are thoughts you are having that are helping you to 'reconsider' pregnancy at a time when you know it's not for you, then use this to help buffer your decision making process -don't have a baby until you feel you are physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually prepared. A child is the most perfect gift that God gives us - life. Being apprehensive is a good sign that you are not ready yet.

Absolutely. Women spend a huge chunk of their life either not wanting to get pregnant or wanting to get pregnant. Pregnancy is a major life changing event. Worse if you don't want to get pregnant because all the options suck. You can have the baby and be depressed over that. You can give it up for adoption which is depressing. You can get an abortion and that has it's depressing side.

Yes. I was not scared of being pregnant, but the thought of the pain on delivery used to just freak me out. Then, when I was pregnant, it bothered me all the way through the pregnancy, because I was scared and dreading labour.

If you are scared to have a baby or get pregnant what you need to do is STOP HAVING SEX if you are doing so. That will eliminate this problem for you.

YES it's normal.... it's terrifying to think about being pregnant before you're ready. if you're not having sex, of course there's nothing to worry about it. i recommend waiting until you're MUCH older (and married) to have sex, but if you're going to do it, PLEASE use good, reliable birth control. get on the pill AND use a condom.
(a LOT of people get pregnant when they only use condoms... that's how my mom got pregnant with me!)
