Get a rabbit or a guinea pig - they're friendly, easy to keep, live in a cage, and don't have to be walked or trained.

What are your choices? What ones do you like? I mean there are many different small pets as in mammals, but also in the reptile area. For mammals, I would say honestly a hamster or gerbil, requires some attention but not alot. They are adorable, especially if they are bought when they are little and you can hand raise them. So they'll get to know you, your scent, your voice and that you are the one caring for them. We've had many small pets and I think they are the sweetest, and also low maintenance. Also if you like the reptile family, although they'll live longer,(hamsters, gerbils, only live about 3 years)there is the bearded dragon, or geckos. They are always small, reach a length of 8 inches max. They are also easy to take care of and you gotta like to feed them mealworms, crickets and the bearded dragon eats greens, some veggies, all cut up. Good luck! Have fun!

cats are too nasty, but are my favirote, birds are kind of hard work, they gets fiesty at times, and you have to keep their nasty cage clean, i think a ferrot would be your best bet, or maybe a lizard, i think it is a igauna, but birds like parrokets are too much work, maybe a cockatil birdie would do, but i would definately go with a ferrot if it were me, it would give me the chance to explore an animal that i rarely here about. besides one of my girl's has a ferrot ,and she talks to him like its her child.lol

ok, It all depends on you. how much are you willing to spend, what type do you really like.
I think that if you get something to small it is easyier for it to get lost or to die. if you get something to big it will be to lazy and not very much fun at all.

A pet rock would be great! U don't have to feed it; it doesn't smell; & it would be really, really quiet.

rats. they are really loyal and if you bond with them, when you come home, they will run up to the cage and sick their nose out and stand on thier feet to welcome you. if your afraid of the tail, dont worry. youll get used to it.
