AdAware from Lavasoft was good in the beginning then they become commercial, to get it to do anything useful you have to buy it. I started using SpyBot S&D a few years ago and have not looked back! I highly reccomend it. Install and keep it updated for FREE.

I suggest you Microsoft Windows Defender (available at: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx )
Remember this is a beta 2 version but it is the best anti-spyware, anti-adware software available and it is also free of cost. Plus, its from a trusted company - Microsoft.
I have used it, that's why I suggest this one. But remember, don't run more than 1 anti-spyware/anti-adware software at the same time. Uninstall the current one before installing MS Windows Defender.
Note: You may have to validate your copy of Windows before downloading.
Also Spybot Search & Destroy is a good one. It's also free. You can download it at: http://www.spybot.com/en/index.html

There are 3 or 4 good spyware killers out there that are free including spybot, adaware, and ewido. Check my 360 blog for sources.

No one antispyware alone will do that. However one that does catch alot is spycatcher express which is free.

Go to micro soft and download windows defender free or Yahoo do similar you can also get free anti virus at avg
