This is a pretty open ended question. The cost is going to vary between year, make and model.
Generally speaking an automatic transmission can be removed, rebuilt and replaced from 1500 to 2500 dollars. It all depends on whether you want a full rebuild or just a fix to the existing problem. If the least expensive route is what your looking for, consider replacing the existing transmission with a salvage unit form a salvage yard. There are several nationwide re-builders that proved a re-manufactured unit that is simply replaced. The advantage to that is that when your done you have a warranty on the trans. The warranty can range from a simple 12/12 to a 36/75 . Like everything else, how much quality do you want and how much do you want to spend.

It depends on what kind of vehicle u have. In most cases its around 1500 to 3000 bucks. Transmission repair is the most lucritive part of auto repair. Be sure to go to a reputable shop, or ur gonna get ripped off. Most of the time its not something major, but u end up paying the major repair cost!

Depends on the transmission. Many times it can be easier to order a remanned tranny from Jasper. Good luck.
