I use a dry dust mop weekly. I have 3 dogs so I vaccum every day. Then when they get really dirty I use about 1 cup ofMurphey's Oil Soap to a gallon of warm water. Make sure your mop is REALLY wringed out. You don't want any water to stay on the floors. Make sure you floors are sealed before using water to clean them.

It can depend on the kind of finish on them--if you recall what it is, double check. If it's a hard shellac/varnish type product, the oil cleaners may never touch the wood.
Swiffers are good for everyday, which spreads out the need for more intense cleaning.
The need to be refinished every 5 years or so...

Murpheys Oil. Mop the floor with it. NEVER EVER use a hard bristle broom on a wood floor. Use a sponge mop or something like a swifter broom
