Don't they realize that if Bush had just read one tiny little memo, 9/11 may have been prevented.

You know, the memo titled "Bin Laden May Be Planning To Attack America Using Commercial Aircraft".

The one he was shown in mid-August. The one he didn't read until 9/12

I bet Gore would've read the memo.

After the first WTC bombing, Clinton didn't blame Pappy Bush even tho it was less then a month after he took office. He didn't overreact and invade a country that had nothing to do with the bombing. Instead he treated the planners like the common criminals that they are and they are now sitting in prison. And Clinton had a active anti-terror policy. Does anyone remember the MIllinium bomber, of course not because that was one of his successes. As for the Sudanese government turning over Bin Laden, those documents have been proven to be fake. The General that signed them had been dead for ten years. When Clinton ordered strikes against Bin Ladens camp in Afganistan and the chemical factory in Sudan, the riechwing cried wag the dog and no bombs for Monica! And remember there were no foriegn terror attacks against the the US after the first WTC bombing during the rest of Clintons time in office. During the transision Bush, Cheney, Rice and Powell were all told that Bin Laden should be their #1 priority. Cheny was put in charge of the Terrorism Task Force, which didn't even meet till after 9/11. Besides the Aug 6th PDB, there were 52 FAA memos sent to the president about hijackings, including one one Sept. 10th! Remember when Rice testified and said that no one could of thought they would aircraft as missles. But there were numerous warnings about that. In fact when Bush was at a G8 meeting in Italy, there was warning that Al Queda was going to crash a plane into the hotel Bush was staying at. He spent the night on a carrier. And George HW Bush was having lunch with Bin Laden's brother when the planes hit the towers. And it was bin Laden's other brother who bailed Bush out of his failed oil company. And why did Bush fly around the country on 9/11 instead of going to Washington and taking charge. And why did he say he watched the first plane hit the tower as he was waitng to into the classroom when in fact there was no footage of the first plane till the next day and he was told about they strike on his way to the school. The real question is WHAT did Bush know and WHEN did he know it? Bin Laden tried to get Clinton to overreact and Clinton didn't. He then tried to get Bush to overreact and Bush did!

Oh, he read the memo, and about 10 others in the 90's. Come on man-- the Clinton administration let Bin Laden go multiple times-- as Vice President-- Gore knew. You can, not like Bush, just dont be naive about 9/11-- After 2 terms of no action by Clinton/Gore you are going to get on Bush when he was in office a couple of months? Im not saying Bush did everything right, but dont act like Gore would have been a good president-- He couldnt even dress himself---

Why you ask? because all the politicians were sitting in room one day watching TV waiting for comedy central stand up comedy to come on(either that or comic view) because they were having a lame day. You know, they didn't decide to drop bombs on any unsuspecting countries, make false treaties with other world leaders, still from the poor, you know they were having a very bad day and they needed something funny to watch to amuse themselves.

Then all of a sudden they saw the 9/11 tragedy on the news(by accident of course) suddenly remembering who the president was some of the Conservatives began to laugh exclaiming this was by far the funniest thing they have ever witnessed in U.S history. So they say that as an inside joke every time the subject of bush and 9/11 come up because they were remembering that day.

Actually it's everybody's fault who took no action against bin laden or saddam when they had the chance. Althogh the story could be accurate?hmmm.

If the election had been done properly (no voting shenanigans by the RNC) we wouldn' t be in the mess we are in now.

Our biggest problem lies in the lies of this administration. Mr. Bush has repeatedly abused his power and his office while our other elelcted officials sit on their hands and do nothing.

This should be a clear indication that the RNC and the DNC aren no longer representing the people of their parties but the corporations that are funding each of them.

The voice of the individual American has become so small that a shout is received as a whisper. We have no voice. We have no unity. Without representation or unity it makes it too easy for our government to pass laws that not only limit our freedom (how many times have we been able to vote on real issues??) but intrude on our private lives.

We losin' it, America... better wake up!

If I was still a member of the RNC I would be as angry at these voting tricks the RNC has learned. It proves that the RNC doesn't trust it's own members to vote.

The only reason Bil Laden was even able to send that memo is because Clinton did NOTHING after the 1992 WTC parking garage attack. Clinton (and most Democrats) are too nervous about stepping on anyone's toes so they allow EVERYTHING to happen to the US without doing anything in retaliation.

How planes have been hijacked and how many domestic terrorist acts have been carried out since 9/11?

ummmm....ummmm...NONE

Thanks to a President with the guts to hunt down scum and tighten security.

Even if he read the memo, what good would that have done? what was he gonna do, shut the whole country down? stop all airplanes and aircraft from flying? its not that easy. do you know how many threats are made each year to the country and states and schools and all the way down to people? some of them happen and some dont and its not as easy as it sounds to just tell everyone to "stop" for a day and not go anywhere.

The memo was titled "Bin Laden Planning To Attack America" and if he had started arresting or detaining Arabs saying there might be an attack you and many others would be calling for his impeachment.

Yeah right! The key word is "MAY". What could he do? Clinton had cut all the intelligence budgets to the bone. If that "Patsy" Gore was in office, he would have lobbed a few missiles at somebody and then called it a day just like his former butt buddy Clinton. Heck! He probally would've had a luncheon date with RuPaul.

The problem is not that Bush didn't do anything. The problem is that Clinton let the intelligence community go to hell during his terms in office. Bush had to build the community back up to a level where it could actually work well together.

yeah thats it. Look at what they did the first time the World Trade Center was bombed. Anyone remember that? We arrested a couple guys and treated them like common criminals. If we had gone to war over that, we would not have had 911. And Bush was not in office then
