And how can one unbrainwash someone?

If someone knows they are brainwashed, then they are no longer brainwashed. People who are brainwashed don't think they are brainwashed. If you think someone has been brainwashed, it will take time and patience to change their mind.

by definition, if someone is brainwashed they don't know they are being brainwashed. because they have been deluded and obsessed with someone else's belief system beyond any of our efforts to reason with them or to sway them away from their beliefs by logic. People in cults are brainwashed, or in countries when people are blindly following their leader without questioning...I"m sure there are psychological reasons for this, like poor self esteem, desire to believe in a higher cause, weak will power, etc. I don't see how someone can be unbrainwashed except maybe with time or if something bad happens to the person. Ugh...

They have inklings that all is not right, but this gets suppressed by the systems of control that are in place.

Yes, they can be deprogrammed, but brainwashing will always have permanently changed them. A person can become an advocate against the particular type of brainwashing that they were a part of and that helps.

PS I think your headless woman picture in high heels is distressing. Pick another picture please. This one screams sexual objectification by yourself, or internalized sexism.

No, I don't think they do. If they are brainswashed into a cult or something they can be deprogrammed by a professional. I guess you can try to reason with the person brainwashed in another way, but it will be hard.

no. that is how brainwashing works. the person twisting your mind convinces you that they are right and even if the truth is right in front of you, you dont believe it because you were programmed to believe otherwise. it takes a lot of work to deprogram.

usually it invovles therapy with someone who has knowledge of programming. because there are usually a lot of mental roadblocks put up so the person doesnt break away from the umbrella of lies that have been programmed into their brains.

Most people don't.
When you spend money in a bottle of water to drink instead of regular water. When you are afraid of be infected by AIDS that is actually rare and forget there are other diseases. When you are obsessed against smoking, but eat smoked beacon, etc, etc, you are brainwashed.

Brainwashing is a slang word, but if you are being brainwashed then you would not realize it. The term itself indicates this. It means someone is controling or making your mind believe what they want you to believe, not what you want to believe.

Stick the tip of your pinky finger in your ear. If you get soap bubbles on your finger tip, then that means that you've been brainwashed.
