When did you start wearing makeup? What kind of makeup did you wear first? How did you tell your mom that you wanted to wear makeup?

I'm thinking about just wearing some concealer, is that a good idea?

My mom didn't let me wear make-up at all when I was a kid. I started when I was a sophomore in college (19-20 years old).

I started wearing make-up when I was 15. Boy, was I bad at it back then!

I started with just drawing my brows and putting on eyeliner and progressing from there.

It sounds like you want to start wearing make-up to hide certain flaws on your face (since you want to wear concealer). Since I do not know what these flaws are (scarring? acne?) or how old you are, I wouldn't be able to tell you if it's a good idea.

However, if you are of a certain age (I mean, don't tell me you're 12 and you want to wear make-up!), and are just curious and want to experiment, I say go for it! But if you are using it to hide some insecurity and think it will do some kinda magic for your social life, then you should think again. Make-up should only play a supporting role on your face.

I think if your mom is like any average mom, she will be against you wearing too much make-up at a young age. However, if you could just casually mention your curiousity about concealer, it might not seem so overwhelming to her. Always ask for her opinion (e.g. "What do you think about my wearing concealer to cover up my scar? How do you choose which colour for your skin tone?"), this way she will feel more involved and less worried about you gilding the lily. And it can be fun shopping for make-up with your mom (especially if she pays the bill)!

Just remember to apply the concealer lightly (you're not painting it on), and blend carefully to make it look natural. You don't have to apply concealer or foundation to the whole face, just parts where you need to even things out (e.g. skin tone)/avoid smudging the make-up. And always wear moisturiser beneath it (wait ten minutes before applying concealer), it will help the concealer go on more smoothly and evenly and prevent the concealer from drying out your skin.

I always enjoy playing around with make-up. Have fun, and remember less is more!

I started to wear make up around 13-14 years old. I didn't wear much though, because I saw how ugly it can look when you have blue eyeshadow from your lashes to brows. (scary!)
If you have blemishes then go ahead and put some concealer on, but remember to take it off when you're done being around people(lol).
I started off not using any concealer at all, because my skin was practically flawless. I used a little lip gloss, some light pink/white eyeshadow and some simple mascara.
My mom didn't like me wearing makeup because she thought I was going to mess it up really bad, like putting too much on or too bold of colors. But when she saw me with it on, she said "You are a lot better at putting on makeup than I was at your age." I guess she didn't want me to make a misstake like she mayhave when she was younger. As long at you don't overdo it, your mom should be alright with it.
As for telling her, just put on some simple makeup and go to your mom and ask her how it looks. She might actually have some tips for you that she knows. :3
Wearing make up from time to time doesn't hurt, but if you cake it on each morning it can really hurt your skin.
Hope this helps! :D

2nd grade. hehe not what you think. Just because I was a member of a kids club and i performed ballet so I had to put on a little make up.
Talk about "real" make up, I've just started a couple weeks ago(now i'm in 12th grade). I'm using lips gloss, a little rouge (just when I'm out in the evening), and face powder since my skin is a little dark.
Well i think wearing make up is also good for your skin, since it's like a mask that protects your skin from dust and UV rays. It'll be that good as long as you wear just a little of it to make you look more lively and confident, otherwise you'll look like an old ma'am trying to struggle with age by wearing tons of make up.:D And remember to clean your face with facial foam after a nice day, when people have to turn around to look at your pretty face ;)

I started wearing makeup at the beginning of my freshman year. Concealer would be a good idea.

In 6th grade, I used to keep a tupe of lipstick in my pocket and sneakily put it on as soon as I left the house. My mom didn't like me wearing it, especially the bright pink color I loved. Sometimes I'd forget to wipe it off before I got home and I'd be in trouble.

I started wearing lipstick for real in the 8th grade. Then concealer and mascara in 9th and the rest is history.

Funny, though, now that I'm in my 20's I don't wear as much as I did in my teens.

Concealer is good if you truly need it, but if I were you, I'd concentrate more on taking care of and getting good-looking skin.

i started wearing makeup at 13...
the less you wear, the better...i wouldn't go with concealer alone...wear some blush and some mascara, maybe a tad bit of shadow...the healthier the look, the better...wear too much and you will look like a clown
i just told my mother that i was going to wear some makeup and if i looked like a clown for her to please tell me...my mother hardly ever wore makeup, so, she could not help me learn how to apply it
fortunately i have always thought that the more i looked as if i didn't have any on, the better it would really look

when i was in first grade i started doing acrobatics at a dance studio in a nearby town to my hometown, so i had to wear make-up on recital day and for dress rehearsals.

but i started wearing real make-up in seventh grade, about a week and a half before picture day. i made my mom take me to the mall and hovered around the Icing, where i could stand between the make-up and the jewelry. then we left the Icing and i asked her how much make-up cost. lol, it wasn't the way i planned but i asked her and that's that! but seh bought my eyeshadow, tinted lipgloss (it lasts as long as lipstick but it's sheer and shiny, like lipgloss.), blush (which i hated so much i accidentally lost it on purpose, becasue i never used it), foundation (which i recently threw out becasue i used it as a concealer and it didn't work, so i bought a concealer and ditched teh foundation), and translucent powder in that lil compact with the mirror. i rarely use the tinted lipgloss, and i always use concealer ONLY in places i need it, and i always use lipgloss and mascara. sometimes i use eyeliner, but only on the bottom because too much eyeliner makes your eyes look small.

but to make it look more natural i slowly started wearing the makeup that my mom bought me (no eyeliner or mascara at the time though, because she didn't want me to use it but i eventually bought it and she didn't complain). like first i just used the powder, then i used the powder and lipgloss, then powder and lipgloss and eyeshadow. and since i slowly introduced it to my look, people in my grade (except for my friends) don't think i wear make-up at all unless i do something really obvious (like the smoky treatment). and i'm going into eight grade in a lil over a month and i think that's pretty good cuz usually girls cake-on and everyone knows that they wear it and they think they look fake.

BUT if you slowly introduce make-up into your look and don't wear too much peope will think that it's only your natural beauty, not natural beauty enhanced with make-up.

For me, it's a really hard question because I started playing with it when I was a little child with those kiddie makeup sets {You know, like those little makeup boxes from like Claire's and stuff.} My mom didn't really stop me even though I was like only 5 years old. Now, I don't put a lot of makeup on because I'm afraid it will ruin my skin and cause pre-mature aging.

couple years ago. my mom seriously didn't care when i used makeup, she didn't encourage it though.

concealer is pretty good, it's a good start. don't start off wearing too much makeup, you'll look like a clown, trust me. a little eyeliner and some natural lip gloss goes a long way! :D
