I need advice. We are moving this week. What do we have to do before we move?

Besides calling the cable, getting all the boxes ready, etc. I can't think of anything!!! I'm getting stressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

use a list............. works best ... you can cross off what you have done and what needs to be done.. but you should think of things like changing number with doctors offices and your insurance if you live in Canada you will need to get your new health cards but you will have 3 months after you move..... relax write out your list of what needs to be done and cross off what you have done ...... a simple trick to knowing where what box goes in what room..... get your self some sharpie markers in diff colors and assign one to each family member to use in his or her room and make a list (on back of what needs to be done list) of what colors go where..... oh yeah and have a box marked bathroom and take it with you in your car....... you can have all you will need to use the bathroom from shower to brushing teeth all in one box.....

Don't stress about what you might forget. The most stressful thing is the actual move itself. Make sure that everything is packed, utilities have a shut off date and a restart date at your new address. Also, most importantly, get back any deposits you've given for your original place that you are leaving. If there is a landlord involved, take lots of pictures of the place once it's empty so that there is NO question as to the condition when you left it. Good luck!

Change of address, you can get that packet from the post office.

Change your address at your bank, credit cards, and magazine subscriptions.

Clean the place your leaving, inspect the place you are going.

pack your fragile lamps in your fridge or freezer!! that way they have a less chance to break!!
