Any person who lead a country especially a developing one who openly admitted to cheating on the balloting to attain her presidency as well as stealing money from the country via gambling(lottery sales), bribery,(paying off priests and politicians to get her brownie points)...not having integrity to step down as president even after she admitted to cheating and peoples cry for her resignation....

Firstly "she made Ramadan a Muslim national holiday"...well Ramadan lasts for a month so that's BS, maybe she made the first day of Ramadan a national holiday, nothing wrong with that.
Secondly, if you stop listening to all the opposition politicians and media who spread BS about Arroyo simply so that they can get into power and pillage the country for themselves you might see that Gloria is one of the best presidents the country has ever had.
I do not believe she is corrupt, I do believe she is working for the good of the country and not just her own business interests, I do believe she is a very intelligent woman (she went to Uni with Bill Clinton and holds a Doctorate in Economics) and i do believe the country has come further under her presidency than in the 10 years before her.
The only black mark against her is that her husband abused his position for financial gain, but there has been no wrong doing proven against her, only heresay and rumours.

80% of the people want her out. 90% are not informed about the truth. They have no idea how much money and business she has brought to PI. They blame her for poverty. But the truth is that overpopulation causes the poverty. EVERY economist outside of PI knows this. She cannot stop the overpopulation because the catholic church fights her at every turn. When she proposed a law for sex ed the church killed.it. The catholic church is responsible for the poverty but they just blame the crooked politicians. The truth is every country has crooked politicians. Even China who is growing by leaps and bounds has worse corruption. PI's problem is there are to many babies. And Arroyo can't do anything about that.

I don't know either! I think she is Better (gloria macapagal arroyo) than marcos and Estrada, but they say she is a bad president! Aj the answer before says
"I don't like that she withdrew the troops from Iraq" well the only reason she withdrew them from Iraq is because she said that a life is more precious than a silly war.also AJ says

I guess they hate her because - life has never been harder since she was seated as the president of the country. Devaluation, civil unrest etc.
Her being the president is causing more trouble than if you seat anyone.
Mrs. Arroyo and her family has been so controversial because of graft and corruption.
She spends public funds so they say for personal gain.

Being an American and knowing a bit about TP, I don't like that she withdrew the troops from Iraq. I don't like that soon after she made Ramadan a Muslim national holiday, that was like a slap in our face and some other questionable things, now whether she is responsible alone I do not know, but she held the power.

i totally agree with stefjeff...she is one of the best presidents we ever had.....i don't get why people go on rallies all the time.....people have been trying to kick her out of her presidency ever since she was elected and they're still trying to do so until now....i think it's about time that you people give it up because it's just causing more chaos in our country and you're preventing our country to move forward.....it's also getting really annoying!

I think it's because she cheated to become president. She payed the military to ensure that she leads the other candidates by a million.
I think she's okay though.
