NO to both. the pill is not 100%! I got pregnant whilst carefully taking mine - didn't miss days or take them later BUT I now have a four year old.

My friend took her pills everyday at the same time and still got pregnant. Her doctor said that most of time people get pregnant on the pill it's because they skip a day, or dont take it at the same time every day, but in her case he said it was just a fluke.

The really stupid thing I did was... I was going to the beach for a week and due to start my period so instead of starting my last week of green pills and having my period I went right into the next pac. I went through Friday when we were leaving the beach then I just went back to the green pills to have my period and instead I got pregnant. That was 6 years ago and I am much smarter about BC now.

I absolutely did and I did not forget to take any of them. For quite awhile the doctor said I had developed a tumor, but before he left for a vacation overseas I told him I had to be pregnant because that was the only time I felt the way I did and guess what, I was right. She is now 39 years of age and a delight.

it's not that straightforward, unfortunately!
i got pregnant whilst i was on the pill. i took it every morning at 8am never missed one, never skipped one and was never late taking it.
i discussed this with my doctor and she explained to me that there are many things that can effect the performance of the pill...what we think happened with me is how i took it. ie:
if you take your pill every morning with a glass of grapefruit juice and then one time you take it with a glass of milk... this can actually reduce the effectiveness by as much as 8%. doesn't sound a lot, but it is! (there's prob someone out there that could explain why this happens much better than i can)
even at it's best the pill isn't 100% effective. neither is any other method except crossing your legs...but that's boring and only to be recommended to your daughters/nieces/wee sisters etc!

I got pregnant after a good night or two out. I was a bit worse for the wear and couldn't hold my pills down, this cancelled out the effectiveness of taking them.

A member of my family fell pregnant while on the pill because she had food poisoning and so had sickness and diarrhoea so the pill either didn't work or came back up.
