Why would you need heat in the summer?

You need fuel for hot water. I'm not an expert but using diesel fuel does not sound safe to me. Just take cold showers for now or go to a friends or family to shower.

the only difference between diesel fuel and heating oil is the dye. heating oil is red to show that it is for off road use only (no road tax)

It used to be called stove oil
There is stove oil # 1 and #2
I have used stove oil #1 in my Peterbuilt tractor
If you can get tax free stove oil #2 you will be in fat city

yes you can its the same thing. diesal fuel just has more additives in it so it burns cleaner.

If it is kerosene you can. If it is propane you can't.
