A flash-memory player. Hard-drive players like the iPod with Video break when running.

The best flash memory player is the iRiver Clix. It is much better than the Nano because it has great battery life, a larger screen, video playback, FM radio, FM recording, a voice recorder, games, and text viewing.

The new Nike + iPod Nano Kit just came out though.

Something with flash memory. Flash memory is just a chip. It is the type of memory that the i-pod nano has. Most other high capacity mp3 players use a spinning hard drive with moving parts that can easily break.

Probably iPod Nano.

You won't need a large display if you are using it while running. And, as a previous person noted, Nike & Apple have developed shoes that enable your Nano to keep track of your running.
