At present we line the pitch using lime. However, this means that we must line the pitch before every game. Is there some way of permanently marking the grass? If not, is the some sort of alternative way of making the lines permanent?

Best would be white vinyl T-strips buried in the earth. Any topical markings will disappear as the grass grows. Even the strips will have to cleared of overgrowth with a trimmer.

I don't know of anything made for the purpose, but
the floor covering business has a similar " T ", used in metal inserts for transition from one surface to another. This may not be the answer but you might look at them at any floor covering store.

No, grass grows and you have to cut it. The lines will dull over time. You could always kill the grass and mark over it w/ something more permanent.
