Simply because it is very rare to see a Scottish note around England, although I have seen a few (last week was the most recent). As long as it says sterling on it, it is legal and should be accepted. People just think they're forgeries or foreign notes.

Captain Hero??? Make that ZERO - Zero intelligence. Go f*** yourself you bigotted tw@t. I have worked in retail before and always accepted Scottish money. Scotland is after all, still part of the United Kingdom (whether or not you like it). As far as I'm concerned, your Scottish Pound notes are as good as English. Money goes to money after all!
p.s., Drydreamer - keep your narrow-minded opinions about the Queen to yourself. You talk out your ***!

Because the English are racist pigs who look like bulldogs and rats. Most look like bulldogs, but often I see a rat, like Tony Blair. Okay, good day to you chap.
They won't accept the money because they only like their money and think that it's the only legitimate currency.
Note: To those people who thought I meant the English were the only racist people, I don't. There are lots of racist people. That's why there's discrepancies in currency acceptance. And I'm Captain Hero, thank you. If you don't like that, then please go put on your boots, go to your dainty home on Soho street, drink tea, and eat toffee. Toodle-oo.
