This line of work is definitely for outgoing "people" persons.
I recommend taking a look at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida, Orlando. The campus is very near Sea World and right off International Drive. One of the requirements to graduate is to work (intern / part time) in the industry. The college helps you find jobs so you can get a feel of various jobs in the field and have experience when graduating from college.
What better place to get experience than one of the largest tourist attraction cities in the US, Orlando Florida with Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World as well as near-by Beaches, Golf Courses, Cruise Lines, Kennedy Space Center, Daytona Speedway, etc.
