If they have a potty mouth, they may think its cool. They have a limited vocabulary. They are trying to intimidate someone else or they are an abusive bully. They have low self esteem. They don't think anything is wrong with it. They don't know or care whether they are offending people.

If it's bad grammar, some of these can apply too, but they need to read more in order to improve and expand their vocabulary.

To me, these are a few of the reasons people use bad language.

I used to think it was just free self expression. Examining it closer, I found it's a lack of respect for not only others, but also for themselves. Many people have less respect for themselves because they were not respected by someone perceived as important to them. So, it spreads like a virus. "Why should I care? When no one else does?"But, we can make a difference. Our behavior influences more people than we may ever know. Have a nice day.

Because religion is being pushed out of the country. With this a lot more negative scenes are being aired on tv, shown in movies and put in music. Youth grow up seeing and hearing this and mimic what they see and hear. The youth grow up and have kids and pass the negativity down to they children. Its a cycle.

Because they have lost their etiquette book (and I include myself in that lot). People were once "genteel". It would be nice if the pendulum swung back a bit.

Cuz, we have less religous belief, I mean if you think about it, if they would remove the bleeps on words and such and the usage was commonplace there probrably wouldn't be any bad words.
