Don't ask stupid questions- it's got to be Karlheinz Stockhausen. All the other composers stick to the same boring old methods, Stockhausen has broken all the conventions of classical and still sounds brilliant.
PS I also adore Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings. It's so sad!

there are several great Classical composers.
1. Mozart is the musical genius, he could hear a piece of music and he could play the entire piece add he could add on to the music
2. Beethoven is the composer who went completely deaf by the time he had died
3. Bach

Out of all of them, I really have to say Bach as being the most influential. His compositions run the gamut from dark and spooky (Toccata and Fugue) to light and cheerful (Air). And his works inspired Mozart, (who inspired Beethoven)who I'd have to say is a very close second for the title of greatest composer.

Beethoven, Mozart a close second. Beethoven music affects me like no other music from any form, its truly inspired by God and gives me chills, its amazing how Great his music is compared to the crap on the radio these days, no comparison and timeless.

Watch My Immortal Beloved for his life story, its a great movie with Gary Oldham.
