i just posted a similar question.
my guess is that the government has instilled fear in the general public... fear of terrorists, fear of homosexuals.. fear is an excellent tool for manipulation.

The instigator of that mind control wasn't the government itself. It was, first, the Jews of the Rothschild banking house who triggered the American Civil War by agitating in the North against Slavery.
The Civil War permitted the bankers to endebt both sides, and after the war was over the bankers assassinated and bribed and cheated until the got the 14th Amendment, which is really a sort of government decree rather than the constitutional amendment that most people think it is.
Then the Jews began buying up the media, both in Europe and in the United States. They don't control all the media, but they do control all the big media outlets except for the Internet.
With the financial system in their hands, they can determine whether or not US currency is worth anything. They can decide when a Great Depression will occur and how severe it will be. They can choose whether the US can afford to fight a war, or not.
With the media in their hands, they can determine which political candidates' names will be seen or heard by the people in the press or on television. They can decide which political issues will be deemed "important," and they can choose how those issues will be presented to the people.
They can even send some of their own idealogues to represent their ostensible opposition, in order to ensure that any public "debate" reaches only the conclusions that they want it to reach and, at the same time, to give the public the impression that "all sides" were given due consideration.
That's the sort of power that made it possible for the Jews to capture our government. Once our elected officials could only be elected by the good grace of the Jewish masters of the media and high finance, those officials had to do what the Jews wanted them to do, and not what was in the best interests of the Americans.
So, yes, there's mind control. And historically governments have used it against their citizenry. But in our times, in the United States, in England, and in Europe, the mind control originates with the Jews and has a Zionist agenda.

which government?
which control?
civilization, morality and decency always includes acting against ones own short-term interests
for instance, if I am walking and you are getting into your car, it is in my short-term self interest to hit you with a tire iron until you stop moving and then take your car
governments and other institutions (including families) act to encourage morality and enforce laws so that people will often choose to act in the group interest
this gives rise to politics because there is not generally complete agreement about what is in the group interest, and because people still want to put their self-interestsahead of the group interests
this is the struggle of being human
surprisingly, we have done pretty well over the years, considering

Years of training (school, not just public) and limited information (popular media). You really have to leave your own country to udnerstand how deeply you've been affected by these. I don't mean that getting out will necessarily change your opinions, but you will see how others are socialized in similar ways, to suit the purpose of their own governments and other power institutions.

Ever really wondered about all the preservatives and additives that are put in consumer goods? Fear not, for it is written that all this must come to pass... Keep the Faith, stay vigilant and do not worry about what you cannot change. We must stay silent for a while longer, lest "they" suspect we are no longer under their control.
Our day will come, like a thief in the night and they shall not be able to stand against our army.

Use of force, and basically you give up certain rights to the government so that you are protected and have a home and such, then after years of this you realize that you are more scared of the government than anyone else and basically do what they tell you.

It would probably scare the pants off of all of us if the people of the world knew what their governments were doing.

They create the fear , (yes I am refering to 911) then scare everyone into believing George Bush should have unlimited power to do what he wants to rid us of it . This gives him the unlimited power he's so craved and willing to do anything for . Another word for it is fear mongering.
