No- we are not lazy! Our men generally think so though- which is a real shame. I have 2 kids- ages 4 years and 9 months, the 9 month old still nurses and we all know how much time nursing takes up, and how tired it makes a woman. I clean up the house to varying degrees every day- kids take up a lot of time! I'll admit my house isn't spotless and sometimes I'm doing a last minute lead of laundry so that particular shirt or shorts are clean for the next day. But, I spend most of my time with my kids, playing with them, feeding them, holding them, reading to them; and I'm paying for it. They're spoiled! No sooner do I get out of bed for my coffee in the morning and they are already there, wanting my attention. Sometimes I can't even take a shower until my husband gets home because they won't nap at the same time. So, concequently, I LOOK like I've been sitting around all day- still in my pj's! I think I'm going to videotape my days from now on! Show people what stay at home moms really do!

I am a housewife, am 24 and have two kids 2 and 1. I wish i had time to sit down. My husband works and im able to stay home with my kids, it sucks sometimes but i love it! I have been one for 3 years. I guess if a housewife didn't have kids then she could be lazy, but if she had kids and was lazy then in my opinion she couldn't be a good mother. (Unless the kids were teenagers)

really . . maybe you'd like to take a week and switch . . it'll be a real eye opener . . cooking cleaning shopping laundry, planning, kids . . you don't even KNOW what work is until you've watched a typical housewife spend a day . . you (we) sit at a desk and have stress, but a housewife is always running, multitasking, and the worst part is, she gets NO recognition for it . . I had my own business for 27 years, had three kids and worked from morning to night all day everyday . . I am now retired, and I can tell you that I am busier than ever .. cooking, shopping planning preparing, watching the grandchildren . . lemme tell ya . . it's a job that deserves a medal!!!!!

I am a housewife/stay at home mom of 6 an 1 year old daughter. I don't get to have any lazy days, believe me I would love to. I tend to let the housework go at times, but my kids keep me busy.

It depends on the housewife. Some might be lazy and wait around for someone to do all the work, but others are harder workers than people who have jobs. Children are not easy to raise.

getup, shower, get dressed, get the kids up and ready, off to school, dishes, laundry, bed, sweep, mop, lunch, work outside or inside, kids come home, snack, homework, supper, baths, lay out clothes for next day for my self, huband, etc, try to wind down, go to bed,
This is only an average day, not including a shopping day, a day I have to sub at school, or other appt. A "housewife" does everything and has every job title.

How about working 2 jobs and then coming home to be a housewife.

I'm a mom and housewife and no I do not sit around all day. I cook, clean, do laundry, let the dogs out, and run errands.

Wake up at 7:00 take a shower, get ready. go pay all the bills, come home, cook dinner for my husband to care to work, leave again to go to misc. appts, come come, clean house from top to bottom EVERYDAY then cook dinner again for my hubby for when he comes home from work at 3:00 in the morning in case he's hungry go to sleep wake up and do it all again. It actually sucks. I tried it for the first time in my life. I've been doing this for 2 months now. I hate it. Im going back to work!!!!!!!!!!
