I have a spousal visa to stay in England. I am from South Africa. Husband borne in England. How long before I can apply for permanents citizenship and how do I go about doing so? Please help

I think you have to have at least three years of permanent residence in the UK to apply. Talk to the Foreign Office (http://www.fco.gov.uk/servlet/Front?pagename=OpenMarket/Xcelerate/ShowPage&c=Page&cid=1007029390554) for further advice or even go with your husband to visit your local MP, who should be able to know where to get started.

It comes at birth, naturally. Just decide what country you want to be a citizenship of and be born there. You have to do a little "advanced" planning but it's worth it.
