A nintendo 64 is a 64 bit video game system. It was released before the Gamecube. It featured hits like "Super Mario", "Mario Kart", "Harvest Moon", "Zeldas", "Mario Parties" ,and "Yoshi's Story". It was geared more toward the younger generation with only a few mature games "Resident Evil", "Conker's bad fur day", and the "Turoks".

The SNES was, I believe, a 16 bit system, that came out before the N64. It stands for "Super Nintendo Entertainment System" It had many more games on it than did the N64, and was more of a success. Great games included, "Mortal Kombats, Earthbound, Final Fantasies, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario RPG, and Secret of Mana." It had many RPG (role playing games).

The NES was a 8-bit system that was the biggest success for Nintendo. It stands for Nintendo-Entertainment-System. The original system had a major flaw in that the connectors on the system would get dirty and cause the system to blink when turned on with a game. The top-loading NES put a end to that problem; however, it was too-little, too-late. It appeared in 1985, and most systems came with a gun and with a Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt cartridge. Great games included great arcade classics llike "Mike Tyson's punch out, Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, etc." The NES had tons of games since the system's life lasted almost 6 years.

Nintendo is a brand name. They make video game console and games. The system connects to your TV and gives you years of amusement. NES or Nintendo Entertainment System was the first model they released in the US and possibly Europe. The Super Nintendo was a 16-bit (more powerful, prettier) system released years later.

The Nintendo 64 was a huge deal because it was the first system to fully support 3D games. Most video game nerds (like me) can remember the first time they fell in a 3D game, because it gives you a realistic sense of vertigo.
