Embryonic stem cells do not offer us anything that we cannot get from adult stem cells. The push for embryonic stem cells has more to do with the opportunity to make money from the destruction of embryos and the support of the agenda of Planned Parenthood to justify federal monies to their bank account.

How can we tell? Right now it is in the research stage. I have a good friend who was diagnosed with ALS two years ago. She has deteriorated to the point where she can now partially use only her left arm. If I see a hint of stem cell research helping someone in her condition I might push for its use too. However, I have 3 kids and consider everything they are to have been there at time of conception. I have a problem using someone's viable embryo for research.

Scientists have been using embryonic stem cell research for decades. Very little medicine has derived from this research.
