He's your friend, right? He knows you well enough that he should see you like him. Don't insult his intelligence by talking to his friends, sending him cutesie presents or anything like that.
Just sit down and talk to him, tell him straight from your heart how you feel. Be ready, too, because this will most likely make him tell you how he feels, good or bad. But remember, good or bad, he is still your best friend, and friends are worth far more than anything else in the world.

I think you dont have to say you like him because it is obvious that you like him because you are best friends! The best thing is tell him that you feel something more than friendship and you want to have a boyfriend with all his personality and ask him if he does like to have a girlfriend same with your persona;lity!If he say yes,you got him! I think, the smartest to do is you have to make the first move and write a letter everything about your feelings so that you will not suffer and won't expect that will just dissapoint you! I fhe is destined for you,both of you will be meant to be if the fate allows!Good luck!

Be confident, say something to the effect of:
I really enjoy spending time with you. I would like to know if you would like to go out to dinner sometime.
Be ready: Have a place in mind, what you think you'd like to do. Also, be ready if they reject you. Don't get mad, say something like, Well maybe right now is not a good time to go forward, but I'll ask you again later.
Make sure that you do not build memories on things that have not happened. this only builds resentment and contempt.

If you like him romantically, then you have changed the relationship without his even knowing.
Decide what you are willing to risk, and be honest. You wouldn't truly be a best friend if you aren't. Integrity, even if it jeopardizes the friendship, is important.

dont let things stay as they are, soon as you do it will rudden it, time will tell, after a while, things dont go to the next level , tell him are her, that you care more than just friends,

I doubt that I would tell him directly.. I think I would go thru his friends.. that is.. indicate to his friends that you like him or that you find him interesting and believe me.. they will tell him.

just tell him how you feel and go from there the worst thing that is going to happen is he/she is going to tell they don't feel the same way. not a big deal

If you you tell him you risk losing his friendship, if you don't you lose a chance at being with him. Which relationship with him is more important yo you I guess.
