In The Year 2525
by Zager Evans
In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find
In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do, and say
Is in the pill you took today
In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing chew
Nobody's gonna look at you
In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your sides
Your legs got not nothing to do
Some machine is doing that for you
In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube
In the year 7510
If God's a-comin' he ought to make it by then
Maybe he'll look around himself and say
Guess it's time for the Judgement day
In the year 8510
God is gonna shake his mighty head
He'll either say I'm pleased where man has been
Or tear it down and start again
In the year 9595
I'm kinda wondering if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing
Now it's been 10,000 years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew
Now man's reign is through
But through the eternal night
The twinkling of starlight
So very far away
Maybe it's only yesterday
In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find
In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do or say
Is in the pill you took today ....(fading...)

Evolutionary theory can not comment on where the world is going in a socio-political stance. It would be like using atomic theory to describe how to improve economic relations with China. I am not sure where you mean what you said about Darwin. Progression implies that we get "better", evolution and progression are not the same things.
Evolution predicts that the forms and functions of life forms must adapt to their surroundings in order for life to continue. External factors like environment and interactions with other species or sub species might influence how a species adapts.
Humans are one of the few species that actually adapt their surroundings to themselves (so do ants and bees and beavers) but we can do it to a degree that no other animal can.
Its very possible that if we control our environment enough, we will no longer evolve. There are many species who have existed practically unchanged in millions of years because they are so adapted to survive in their environments (crocodiles, chambered nautilus, horsehoe crabs, many fish) and their environments were somewhat stable.
Just a final comment:
When ever I see questions like this, I get the impression that people see evolution as some sort of driving force, when in reality it is an effect, and not a cause.

In my opinion, man will be extinct in the next 200 years. That is a best case scenario, as i don't think it will take that long.
I think of it this way.. time travel is theoretically possible, but only with a technology far advanced to ours (cold fission), according to Einstein anyway. In all of history, there has never been a time traveler, therefore, one will never be. The way our technology is advancing at an accelerated rate, surely we would be able to achieve cold fission in the next couple hundred years right? (or maybe just new forms of yahoo, google, and myspace) some might say "aliens" are time travelers.. but why the fascination with anal probing? Off the time travel tangent, everything is coming to a boil with tensions, religions, and ideology. We are destroying our environment, because that how humans thrive. "Live off the land" Mankind is a virus. -have a nice day-

Darwin was a crazy old man that glued a duck bill on a beaver! LOL Actually, I think the World Is Going Straight To Hell!(film at 11!) Well, not really. But, do think that roaches stand a better chance of surviving the future we seem to be building than we do as humans...

I think you misinterpreted the theory, my friend.
Darwin's Theory of evolution does not require that things must become more complicated. It doesn't even require that things get better. At least not by our definition of better.
Although it does predict that complicated structures will be found in the fossil record later than simple ones, it doesn't mean that all structures will become more complicated. Some won't change at all, and others will become inoperable, like the eyes of cave-dwelling animals.
Darwin mentioned no such thing. Only that things become modified. Not necessarily for the better.

Darwin was human with the human flaws of hope and species-centrism. His theory about how species adapt and change to suit their environments makes sense for most of nature. However, humans are unique in that they can change their environment on a magnitude unparalleled by the rest of nature. As a result, humans may be the designers of their own demise

Ever wondered what happened to ancient civilisations that just faded out of existence such as the ones in South America? One theory is that they became too large, over populated, changed their environment through massive agriculture effecting their climate and fought over resources, destroying the fabrics of their entire society. Ring any bells? Its happening now on a larger scale. I think if we can negotiate the challenges that destroyed ancient civilisations the human race has the potential to eventualy outlive even our own planet.

The things you mention are Biblical proofs that man is not meant to progress too far. Darwin's theory doesn't give man the right to surpass, only adapt. The reason we surpass anything is a God-given talent. Think about it.

well acc to Darwin and science, adaptation is the key to survival. We will adapt to the natural calamities we are facing and will live acc to it. Many animals have adapted and we have also in the last thousand years. LIke did u know that giraffe did not have long necks at first, but as the trees grew tall, they evolved and developed long necks. Let's hope for the good.

As "sddingman" said, and a bit more so.
Mankind "may" be able to control some aspect, and may be able to survive other, but even if mankind could evolve in time, time is limited during climate change events.
Evolution is not a short term answer. Most often serious change leads to extinction.
