Why did you like the movie and what message did you get from it?

Excellent storyline and cast performances.
The movie poses two important points about ethics. First, ethical beliefs are not taught and second, unethical motives are not always the underlying cause of villainy..

I loved this movie. It was deep. The message I got from it was society won't let people with disabilities live as normal of a life that they can live and the only other resort is to lock them away so (society) does not have to be bothered by them. Life is cruel and with a disability it has to be even harder trying to explain yourself, feeling, emotions, thoughts and so on. When society doesn't want to spend the time or money helping the disabled their solution is to lock them away. It's sad.

Brilliant performances (except by Yoakum, who just wasn't believable as the abusive guyy). The main message I got is that even a damaged child can grow up to be a man who knows right from wrong and is willing to do whatever it takes to protect the people he loves. Thornton was AMAZING.

Does potted meat stink? I love that movie. Billy Bob did an excellent job playing Carl. I loved Dwight as the asshole wifebeater. John Ritter played the perfect fag. It's one of my favorite movies

I liked it because the main character saw that the "trash" needed to be taken out and he did it. I only saw the movie once, but I liked it.
