To start a trend though, he'll have to get a "celeb" to endorse it.

i can't imagine it starting a new fashion trend, but sometimes just standing out will get someone's attention, then it depends on the person, not the clothes, ther's always a chance

personally i dont think it will work, its not versatile enough, sailor caps dont come in different colors, and which group would this appeal to? i just dont see this sweeping the nation.

if leonard has a personality he won't do what he does because he expects other people to copy him; he will do what he does because it is what he wants to do.
indeed, if people do copy him he will find it annoying. who wants to be like everybody else? (even if you get there by everybody else trying to be like you).
