Well, they are both "fixed" signs, which means they tend to make up their minds about what they want and aren't easily swayed from that. Just as a side note, Scorpio and Aquarius are also fixed signs. Cardinal signs (Libra, Aries, Cancer, Capricorn) like to initiate change, and mutable signs (Gemini, Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius) respond to change. Just FYI.
