Do you teel them and give it back or do you walk away without saying anything?
This happens to me quite a bit. I usually just pocket the extar cash and treat it like they are tipping me for shopping there. Sometimes, I leave with more money than I gave them. Can people just not count these days or what?

No they can't, simple math has become an enigma wrapped in a puzzle...

That said, I give it back...ALWAYS. For me it's Karma (and the satisfaction of correcting people).

I was once in Atlantic city and the dealer gave me an extra $50...When I told him he didn't want to take it back, but I made him...the next hand I got a 4 of a kind and won $700.

When I worked in retail I had a coworker that accidentally gave someone a $50 instead of a $20 and she was fired...but she was pretty much the best sales person they had, so I guess I can see people making a mistake...

Obviously, the moral thing to do is to point out their error and to give the money back. Usually, I do this, but if I've had times where I've been really broke that week, and at that time I have kept my mouth closed and not said anything, because I really needed the money. I always feel guilty about it afterward, but not guilty enough to take it back!!

I usually give the money back. I feel guilty by taking the money and I don't want the person at the register to come up with a loss.

I would take it, then I say, "I just earned a few bucks without doing anything but shop, walk, and push the cart." I think teenagers who work are just clumsy, they could care less, it's not their money, it's the supermarket's money.
