Your doc should only let you go 10 days over but if you say i want to be induced he cant really say no , i mean its your baby and body.So just go see him. I was lucky I was 3 weeks early so i didnt have to wait the entire time...good luck

There is an accupressure point supposedly on the ankle. I would be really cautious about the self-starting of labor for two reasons:

1. There's always the chance you are not overdue. Many a due date is incorrect and so women might worry that they are way past or way early. With my last two pregnancies, it turned out my estimates were more accurate than the doctors!

2. It is always best to let nature take its course, and that includes labor. The only time you would want to "force" the baby out would be for emergency and your situation does not qualify as an emergency.

Now, if you KNOW for certain what your due date is and you're like 2 WEEKS overdue and the baby is getting pretty big AND the doctor feels the uterine environment may be deteriorating, ok then that sounds like a good case for induction - but don't try it at home!

Best of luck and I know you're dying to hold that new baby - my own is due in 4 weeks!

I am not sure of the exact point but I got a pedicure and went in to labor that week.

I heard if you rub the back of your heel really hard that will put you in labor.
